I agree better than nothing.
However, let's say you sleep 8 hours. So you go to bed at 10:00 p.m., wake up at 12:00 a.m. to pee and then drink down your whey shake (20g protein). You have thus consumed a quick absorbing protein, the bulk of the 20g is in your system within an hour, leaving 5g of protein to digest and feed your muscles over 5 hours. In contrast, a casein based shake will provide a more even distribution of protein to your muscles over the course of the night and is thus a better option for avoiding night time catabolism.
