I have Arnold first here. Far superior mass, arms, shoulders, chest, and good conditioning. His muscles are big and round, making everyone else look positively flat. None of these guys have great legs, the standard was different then.

2. I've got Zane. Great proportion and conditioning.

3. I've got Mentzer.

Someone called Arnold's bluff and he piped down real quick ! but Arnold accomplished what he wanted getting to Mike and it worked

This is BS; he didn't get to Mike at all, in fact Boyer Coe was there and verified that Arnold as usual was all talk & backed down because he was known not to be a fighter & had to rely on cronies like Waller, who was nearby. Not that Mentzer deserved to win but the rest is just speculation.

Most of the stuff about Arnold psyching opponents is garbage, but obviously it was worth saying since many still buy it with little proof. ;D

This was Arnolds gift. He manipulated Mentzer until he was finished w/him. Arnold could cower, he could turn his back on Mike, it didnt matter. Mike had already lost the battle and the war.
You are easily manipulated. There was no proof that Arnold had the upper hand, it's only your willingness to believe it.

I would have loved to be there, one of the classic Arnold moments I'm sure of it.
Hilarious; on what basis do you make the assumption that he had the upper hand?

Not saying that Mentzer deserved to win but the stuff about psyching him out has no basis, just interpretation of Arnold groupies let's face it.

I agree 100%. I have seen the footage, and IMO, there is little doubt that Arnold was the best on stage.

That's my point genius; i never made the claim the Arnold groupie did in making that silly assumption with no proof. ;) Neither was psyched out, this is more speculation to support Arnold fantasies.

Mentzer got robbed in  1977 at the Universe, in 1979 at the Olympia and 1980 at the Olympia. No wonder he quit.
Come on that's very biased; robbed? It was close; Szkalak dominated him on upper body & lost  on legs so it wasn't a clear choice either way. Robinson & Padilla were also better than Mentzer.

basically you can't compare anyone to Arnold in this sport, its Arnold. If we walked on stage right now they'd have to give him 1st place because the industry would collapse if they didn't. That fact alone makes me mad. I don't care what anybody says Arnold shouldn't have 7 Sandows.

He gets it: special treatment for Schwarzenegger, Michael Jordan, Gretzky, etc., as confirmed by Serge Nubret here. Hello, anyone aware of it finally? The naivete on getbig's disappointing. As long as it was close Schwarzenegger was *not* losing, bottom line even with half the crowd booing in Sydney.

All the other stuff here about Schwarzenegger "psyching out" anyone is farcical, just wishful misinterpretations after the fact.

the funny thing is that Waller probably had a better build than either of them.
Can't agree with that at all; Waller's upper bod was so-so. Shouldn't have even beaten Robinson or Walker in subsequent Universes but was an established Weider boy with seniority.

Basically Arnold, Waller & Columbu all benefitted from Weider "sponsorship", as Nubret so kindly puts it. Anytime it was reasonably close (or not, '81 Olympia) they were gonna win, and did. ;D

But Pump, wouldn't you agree that all Mr. O's are weider's boys and yet out of all of them, fans like Arnold the best.  There is a charisma about him that draws people to him.  Haney won 8 but not many people care, Yates was a monster and so was Coleman but in the end Arnold is synonymous with BBing.

Arnold had more class than that. That's the same reason he didn't respond to Sergio's request for an impromptu posedown. That always gets brought up as if it means anything. Arnold brought it contest day and that's all that mattered. It's clear to me he did get in the head's of his competitors, otherwise we wouldn't be hearing about all these incidents.

Alex Velickovic was there and said he deserved his placing. If there's no controversy there's nothing to talk about I guess.

Your interpretations are extremely warped: "it's clear to me" becomes fact. Arnold pussying out of a challenge somehow becomes a positive.

How many Arnold posters line your walls currently?

Only a few got the most preferred treatment.

Popularity isn't supposed to make a difference in contests.

The BS about "psyching out" opponents has been repeated so long that various suckers still believe it with little proof other than Schwarzenegger saying it. The problem is that most of the other BBs weren't articulate and never answered that stuff. Just like Arnold's made up story in the movie about his dad dying, when it wasn't true either. ;)

Arnolds conditioning wasn't good, he never had shoulders or forearms even in his prime let alone the 80 Olympia. His legs were skinny. Coe, Mentzer, Dickerson, etc.. had great legs for the day.

It's a decent chest. Not freaky like Arnold's but I would be happy with pecs like that.
