Compilation of ALL Muscle Books EVER!!!!
« on: December 20, 2006, 05:50:40 PM »
Okay Fellas,

Let's get a complete list together with all the Muscle Books/Nutrition books you can buy.
I'm sure we all can work on a list and maybe others learn something on the way.

Anything that has somehow something to do with BodyBuilding and has been printed on paper in form of a book should be mentioned here:

I also think we should sticky this   :-*

I have a question for you guys...I already have the original Encyclopedia of Modern Bodybuilding (one in the yellow cover) but was thinking about getting the new one also. Is it worth it or are they basically the same just with a few updates?

its basically the same but it is updated I bought one on Amazon for like $10 books in mint condition used , it has a bunch of ' new ' pics I haven't seen before , but unlike the yellow one they don't have those cool glossy color pics in the middle .

Someone from my gym actually gave me the first one a dew years ago!

I have seen both. The newer one has the exact same Arnold recommended program but with 4 sets per exercise instead of 5. Also it has pictures of the newer guys instead of the old golden age ones.
just push some weight!

Skip La Cour has some works which are, IMO, some of the best stuff out there.  I worked with him over a year ago, and I tell you, he still stands out as one of the top 3 most knowledgeable people I've worked with.  And definitely the most in-depth in terms of explanations, rationales, supports, etc.

These are just overviews and do the writing no justice.

...dude!..the newer one has newer photos and such, but the main difference between the two in my mind is the new one has completely deleted the 10 or so page chapter on ...you guessed it...STEROIDS.  Not that it was a very useful chapter, but it gave you an idea of what Arnie thought back in 84 about them.

I used to have a ton..one of the best ones was John Parillo's top 50 workout tips or something like that.  John really explained all of the movements well and told you exactly what he felt needed to be done to bring up specific aspects of the physique.

I wish I could find that book today.
