After watching all these weightlifting accidents, what is the point of spotters?

They never seem to do anything that even remotely helps the situation. Even in the Professional powerlifting meets it seems nobody knows what to do or is even really paying attention.

Rather amusing to watch the spotters in all these videos.

Not much is known about 'spotter'...numerous topics have been covered about theories of his/hers existence.

All we do know is...Derek Anthony is TERRIFIED of the one known as 'spotter' and very much like the Devil himslef, 'spotter' has convinced man and getbig that he does not exist...

DA knows otherwise.

Haha. I have spoken to "Spotter" on many occasions and he feels his purpose, aside from pimping fine ass hoes, is destroying the homosexuality that is DA.

Some believe that 'spotter' is actually Derek Anthony, Himself as in his 'split personality' like the movie Fight Club or even Hide and Seek.

240 knows who 'spotter' is. He wont say though...

Well hell just froze over, we agree with on something. I like training by myself anyways, if I can't handle a weight for at least 12 reps, it's too heavy. Spotters at powerlifting meets are usually other lifters so I don't think it's that they aren't paying attention, sometimes they just get caught off guard.

spotter is a true innovator. He's a true pioneer in the art of Derek Anthony bashing. He's very subtle about it but much like a fart...the silent ones tend to be the most deadly.

i always have a spotter stand by on squats..

but revokes this margin and makes you think he's not going to do shit for you. Then the fear comes and you lift out of your skin.

Alas this quality of spotting is rare. Its a fantastic psychological aid when done correctly though. A good spotter scares you into survival mode.

its a fine line...i dont appreciate left hanging sometimes...taking 10 secs to complete a rep..

i'd rather do 2 reps with a touch of help..
