Hillary Disavows Her Iraq Vote
« on: December 24, 2006, 09:46:51 AM »
Hey, you had to know it was coming, whatever fits the agenda, like I've always said, Liberals just can't think for themselves.......

1. Hillary Disavows Her Iraq War Vote

Sen. Hillary Clinton has for the first time said she would not have voted to authorize the 2002 attack on Iraq if she had known then what she knows now.

Previously the likely presidential candidate in 2008 has said that if the Senate had all the information it has today — about Iraq’s weapons program and the current difficulties in pacifying the nation, for example — there would never have been a vote on the Senate floor.

During a Dec. 18 appearance on NBC’s “Today” show, Clinton repeated that refrain. But this time she added: “And I certainly wouldn’t have voted that way.”

Clinton’s change of heart regarding the war comes as she is facing an increasing threat from Sen. Barack Obama, who as a state official in Illinois, spoke out against the Iraqi invasion as Clinton was voting for it.

Two of her other potential presidential rivals, Sens. John Kerry and John Edwards, also voted to authorize the invasion, but then publicly declared they had made a mistake and called for troops withdrawals.

As recently as September, when Clinton was asked on ABC’s “Nightline” about supporters who wanted her to say she was sorry for voting for the war, Hillary stated: “I don’t think that’s responsible.”

And in June, Clinton was actually booed during a Washington appearance when she said it was wrong to set a strict timetable for a withdrawal of U.S. troops from Iraq.

He has said it many times.  I think he does it for attention.  An attention starved little kid.  Just a 911 post whore.

But re Hillary:  I'm shocked.  Not.  She's going to have a hard time disavowing this:

"In the four years since the inspectors left, intelligence reports show that Saddam Hussein has worked to rebuild his chemical and biological weapons stock, his missile delivery capability, and his nuclear program. He has also given aid, comfort, and sanctuary to terrorists, including al Qaeda members. It is clear, however, that if left unchecked, Saddam Hussein will continue to increase his capacity to wage biological and chemical warfare, and will keep trying to develop nuclear weapons."
Sen. Hillary Clinton (D, NY), Oct 10, 2002

Who cares about anything Hilary does.  Neo-cons flip flop as much as Democrats.  Bush said to George Stefanopolis "we were never about stay the course" after having said "stay the course" practically every time he spoke for the past 3 years.

Shit, Bush just finally admitted (sort of) that we're not winning the war in Iraq.

I have more respect for someone whose opinion can change when new information becomes available than someone who sticks to an opinion that was specious to begin with and contrary to all new information.

Why is it that neocons constantly bring up Hilary anyway.   She's got not no chance of winning the nomination much less the actual election?  I suspect it's to create a diversion from talking about real issues.

Bush had zero years in Washington- other than that it sounds like you're describing Dubya (except for being black of course)

btw - I'm no fan of Obama, Hilary, Kerry, etc...

I know this is probably pointless but I have a few minutes to waste.

I highlighted your statement and made the comment that it sounds like you're describing Bush except that Obama has two more years experience in Washington than Bush.  How is it that you can't understand that?

Obama has two more years experience in Washington than Bush.
again, that has nothing to do with what i said.  i was pointing out his political experience, whether it be in washington, serving as govenor etc.  just take washington out of what i said.

hope this helps, 'tough guy' ::)
