Philip Sherwell
London Telegraph

The report, put together by Frederick Kagan, a conservative military analyst, and Jack Keane, a retired general, proposes "surging" at least 30,000 extra US troops into Baghdad and other Iraqi hotspots, as a first step to quelling the bloodshed and restoring security.

Screw that, here's the solution.............

I know this suggestion was made in jest but the nuke idea is the last thing we'll do.  First and most obvious it's not tactical and will mostly kill innocent people (not that I think Bush really cares about that) The ones that survive will hate us forever (ditto).   Open up a map sometime and take a look at the countries surrounding Iraq (some of whom are our allies or at least not yet our complete enemies).  How do we prevent fallout from blowing into their air (oh yeah some of them have their own nukes).  Here's the most obvious reason.  If we nuke Iraq (or Iran for that matter) how are we going to steal their oil?
