rotator cuff question
« on: December 25, 2006, 08:38:29 PM »
ive been wondering if i should do some rotator cuff exercises. Although ive never ever had a problem with my cuff or pain in my shoulders or anything i was wandering if i should do some exercises to strengthen my cuff so i wont have problems with it later as my bench increases over the years. i dont know much about the subject, i dont know what exercises to do or how often or if its even necessary for someone like me whos never had problems with my cuff to work on it in the first place. thanks guys

Damn good idea IMO.

Do some light work, 1-3 sets once a week for 4-5 weeks, every third or fourth month.

I've had problems with both shoulder rotator's. I've been to 6 physical therapist over the years. They all said that a weight lifter should do rotator therapy everyday, using a 2-3lbs dumbell and bands. Once you go over 5lbs the larger muscle groups take over and the smaller rotator muscles are no longer the focus.
