wow, you agree with him, in what is an extreme position on the public/media debating things that there are indeed valid points AND FACTS to take issue with and you do this without an informed opinion on the man launching the attack...  Then at the end of this, after you agreed with Bill O, you seriously ask what I want to debate?  I have to spell it out after spelling it out ::)  You agree with Bill O in what he said.  You therefore agree that the people who debate oil as being a reason or the reason are engaging in defamation in fact have NO RIGHT to do so.  Bill said it was Evil... Oh people like me are evil and you agree ::)  It demeans America and you agree, I and people who wish to debate the FACT that there were plans drawn up for Iraq's oil before the war are demeaning America ::)  He said we can't do that unless we have proof!  Wow, and all we have been doing when we post and talk about these things is to seek debate on unveiled evidence that suggest such and you agree with him.  You agree with Bill O that when we talk about the things above that I posted, it's "Blatant Propaganda"  ::)  You agree with him that people like me are "Hateful Liars"  You agree with him that these people should be "brought down" go after them "where they live"  HUH?  You have to go to a persons home with intimidation to make your point?  These are media people on both sides and you agree with Bill's plan of ambush at their doorstep ::)  You agree that what we do is "Slander"  ::)  I can't fathom what I want to debate you on ::)

Oh brother.  I don't need an informed opinion about someone to agree with something they say.   ::)

No I don't think everyone who believes we went to war for oil/Halliburton is evil.  I try and reserve that label for tobacco companies.  I believe the "war for oil" notion is absurd, nonsensical, etc.  To the extent Bill is attacking people who believe and advocate this, I say good for him.  People have been stating that "war for oil" nonsense for years.  It doesn't add up.  I'm glad he's fired up about it.  Does this mean I agree with all of his tactics and every word he says?  No.  I wouldn't express myself the same way he does, but I like the concept.

I don't like this part:  "Under the proposed law, foreign companies would not have to invest their earnings in Iraq, hire Iraqi workers, or partner with Iraqi companies."

On what basis do you conclude we went to war so we could ask the new Iraqi government to pass this law?  Sounds pretty speculative to me.

BB, I know you won't want to watch the whole thing but just go to 27:09 and watch until 46:48

It's about war for no oil, not war for oil... but the compaines still benefit... After or before watching this, just as a little extra info, check out my thread on Oil Reserves where it was posted by someone, the true amount of oil reserves in the world.

Beach Bum is a sheep.  Plain and simple.  He doesn't even watch OReilly, but he agrees with him that any use of First Amendment right is equal to treason.

That position is so laughable it's beyond silly.  And BB just adopts it on a whim.

Beach Bum lacks a set of core beliefs.  He doesn't know what is right or wrong.  He lets people on TV tell him what ot think, then he defends them blindly.  He'll be defending Hilary too.

Beach Bum is the yes-man at your company.  The boss is always right.  "Good call, boss, I thought Mr. Berserker was wrong too sir.  Good call".

He's a bootlick.  He always will be.  He looks in the mirror and sees it too.

Bum does have at least one core belief and it's all about his taxes

Anything that would raise his taxes is BAD

I wish that we had to pay for any war with a tax increase - pay as you go

Fuck - we don't even have Iraq in the regular budget in spite of the fact that we've been there for 4 years and we've committed to staying there for the indefinite future.

Forget the supplemental spending bills.  It's time to put the Iraq Occupation in the budget and if we have to raise taxes to pay for it so be it

it's funny...

when dollar slumps, dow crashes, or social security crumbles thanks to this war...

who will beach bum blame then?

It'll only be when his bottom line falls that he realizes what 9T in debt really means.

He's a fool.  Tonight I thought about schooling him on the oil thing, but why bother?

he's a fool.  A loud fool.

we didn't go to war to get them to pass this law - you're framing this ass-backwards

we went to war to secure access to Oil that belongs to the country of Iraq and by extension, to the people of Iraq.  Why should they do anything that is not in their interest or that benefits foreign corporations at the expense of their own country and their own people?

The idea that this oil belongs to the country/people of Iraq is a foreign concept to the western world but then again, why don't the natural resources of our country belong to the people of our country?  Ooohhhh, that would be socialism and that's BAD.  It's much better if corporations control OUR resources.

OK - rant over.  Time for dinner.

Perfect!!!!!!!!  Bill O introduces Greg Palast as "one of the worlds formost energy experts" yet by the post made today by Colossus, he's engaging in Slander!!!!!!!!!  hahahahahaha... perfect...  Bill O actually brought him on as a supporting expert during the energy crisis/blackouts several years back!!!!  hahahaha... Now he's bringing America down ::)  Greg Palast had information to back his accusations then and Bill O was all over it in approval!!!  Now he's doing the same thing and backing his accusations and Bill O is not down with that!  ahahahahahahahahaha

O.K.  I listened to 26 to 46 (while banging out a letter).  What that sounds like to me is plans for the aftermath of the overthrow of Saddam?  Or did I miss something?  I heard talk about "privatization of oil" and "plan for the Iraqi oil industry" and "IOCs."  Seems to me if we were going into remove an entire government, there had to be discussion about what happens to everything:  legal system, form of government, oil, etc.  That would be the non-sinister explanation.

Well . . . you got one partially right.  :)  I'm in favor of tax relief for everyone, not just me.  See almost anything written by Robert Novak about taxes.  He's my hero.   :)

This is only 11 minutes long... Greg Palast goes straight to the Oil Companies and James Baker III office that represents their interests in the gulf and their answers are honest and priceless.  This is an important 11 minutes to understand the accuasations Bill O calls people evil for having or wanting to talk about...  It's only 11 minutes BB..

I see.  So now you're saying this hydrocarbon law was not our plan along?  And still you say we went to war to secure access to oil?  Sure seems like we failed.

missing the fact that these plans for oil and war with Iraq were being hashed out at the start of Bush's term... That my friend is when he said there would be no plans to nationbuild anywhere, quote, "The US has no plans to remake any nation" ooooops ;)

No - That's not what I'm saying

not to be rude but again you're looking at this backwards and I honestly can't figure out if it's intentional or not.

trying to get the legislation passed is just the current strategy for gaining access and not "the reason"

again - it's the current tool.

The point is that the Iraqi's are aware that we want CONTROL of THEIR OIL and they would prefer otherwise

and that's been a problem for us

how's that for understatement?
