The dems want to make a decent impact on domestic policies while waiting for Bush to come up with the latest rendition of the iraqi war policy.I think most people will agree that many of the changes are good for america, like implementing the 9/11 commission recommendations. a motivated congress working their asses off can't be a bad thing.

I was actually pretty excited when I saw the proposals. Designed to really give some positive changes to domestic policy.When Bush finally announces the troop increase in 2 weeks, they will tackle his initiative then. (they can't take on the war yet, as the 2007 budget was already approved by a repub congress.)
