hate to tell ya, Earl, but a bodybuilder breaking into the film industry in the 70's is alot different then one breaking in today.  BB were not so common, pumping iron really made the film industry stand up and take notice of Arnold, especially since it opened with enormous success and many awards.

You can't even compare Kevin's situation today....plus as many have pointed out he reallly doesn't got much charisma.  Did you see him host the olympia?  And that's something he is familiar with.

I know it's difficult but I never said he would be on arnold's level

there can only be one mega action star and that's arnold

there will never be another one like him

all i'm saying is he can have success

it's funny how everybody who doubts kev always brings up his olympia hosting gig

since when did "hosting" mean you could act?

since when did your real world personality mean anything in the world of acting?

that is why they call it  "ACTING"

That's a good poin, Earl.  There are lots of actors and even theater majors that are very shy and intraverted yet shine when on stage or in front of a camera.  owever, the hosting gig comes up because that was and is also "acting" in the sense that you are there to make the show interesting, show expression to keep the viewers tuned in and use your professional knowledge to inform.  As far as I'm concerned he did neither.  As a enormously popular BB he didn't even bring the average viewr into the show nor did he ask any good questions of the BB's.  It doesn't mean that he can't act 100% but it certainly wouldn't get a casting director to contact him.

Regardless, I hope he does great.  he seems like a interesting guy with many interest, BB, athletics, singing and acting.  The race after the olymia with the olympic runner is too me equal in impressiveness as his bodybuilding physique is.

Some of you guys talk  about Kevin making a comeback without realizing the price he would have to pay...his health...

Some of these pros have a brain, and know when to call it quits.

He left his mark on the sport, as one of the best pros EVER.

Why should he come back, and shave years off his life doing intense amount of gear, for what?
Look at Benfatto, hes back, so what? I saw him in the mag recently, and its not even worth it... :'(

I'm one of Kev's biggest fans and I would love to see him back but there are two things working against him. One, his age, he's just too damn old for pro bodybuilding. And secondly, whilst to most of us he has the ideal Mr Olympia body and we would give him perfect scores and all that. Unfortunately to the judges he would need to have a fat gut and be grotesque to look at, he would probably get no better than 3rd if Ronnie continues to compete, even if he got into 2000 type condition.

How is Kevin Levrone too old for pro bodybuilding, considering the comebacks of guys like Paul Dillet, Gary Strydom, Francis Benfatto, and especially Vince Taylor (who at age 50, just missed a top-10 placing at the Olympia)?

Absolutely, mcway!  The guy in 4th at this years nationals, light heavy class was TJ Hewitt and he is 54 years old.  I first met TJ in early 90's and he was good but not as good as he was this year.  Also he isn't just a bodybuilder but competes in kick boxing at a high level.

I should have worded it better. What I mean is, he is too old to be competing for 1st place like he was 10 years ago. As I said, if he did come back he would do no better than 3rd as Jay & Ronnie will have those positions sewn up no matter what condition they come in. He's been off the roids a while (as you can tell from the pic below) and there is no point in putting his body through hell to get 3rd, 4th or 5th place. Kev could compete till he's 50 like Vince but Kev was all about winning not finishing 10th.

Weed is, like, completely harmless. I'm pretty sure I saw that on TV once. I was going to look it up on the Internet to prove it to you. But like... whatever.

BTW, Levrone-posing-suit jokes at Earl's expense are one of my favorite things about GetBig.
