I think it should be obvious to all.
Brixton has a lot invested in his position. He perceives any disagreement with his position, as an attack on him and what he believes in, ...and therefore an attack on him, sadly. The idea that something he has invested so heavily in could be wrong is anathema to him. He has risked his life for this... it has to be right... no?
