the abstinence thing is just the old-fashioned way that boxers would approach an upcoming bout.  They would go into "training camp" with their trainer, and live away from their wives in the few weeks before a fight, but only so they would think about boxing 24/7 and really concentrate on the fight.  there is no science behind it or anything, and nowadays no one really does it, except for maybe a few old school guys.

If women weaken legs, someone forgot to tell Bob Beamon.  The night before he set the record in the long jump in the 1968 Olympics, he reportedly had sex (by one account, for the first time).

Yep, you seriously can compare a 15 round match with long jump.

Simple,
sex needs energy, boxing needs energy,
you can only succeed in one thing at the time.

What has it been, around 25 years since there were 15 round matches?

As far as energy, I watched a big tub of goo named James Toney lumber through 12 rounds last weekend.  I doubt sex or no sex had much to do with it.

Dude, these guys get paid to allow other men to pummel them until they are unconcious, arguably the best ever just got arrested for coke possesion and pissed away 200 million dollars they are not the brightest people! I'm sure somehow they THINK it helps, therefore they make it work in reality.

Not to quibble, but Mike Tyson was hardly "arguably the best ever."  Here is the List of boxing's all time best fighters, by Ring Magazine in 2002:

1. Sugar Ray Robinson
2. Henry Armstrong
3. Muhammad Ali
4. Joe Louis
5. Roberto Duran
6. Willie Pep
7. Harry Greb
8. Benny Leonard
9. Sugar Ray Leonard
10. Pernell Whitaker
11. Carlos Monzon
12. Rocky Marciano
13. Ezzard Charles
14. Archie Moore
15. Sandy Saddler
16. Jack Dempsey
17. Marvin Hagler
18. Julio César Chávez
19. Eder Jofre
20. Alexis Arguello

Mike Tyson was ranked as #72.

I do agree with the remainder of your post.

well, technically, the idea is to NOT let others pummel you but do the pummeling yourself.

they always say this to boxers few months before a fight...WOMEN WEAKEN LEGS..they are not allowed to have sex for months before a fight or anything related to sex that is masturbation..so why can't they have sex while preparing for a fight?

When a man doesn't have sex for three months (typical training time) he becomes highly irritable and easily pissed off. This translates to more aggressiveness in the ring. Lack of sex can make one become a uncaged animal in the ring.
