Girls, whatabout male cleavage!
« on: January 06, 2007, 04:23:55 AM »
Pretty much all men looks at womens cleavage. Married or not, young or old, they look. I guess it's a biological thing and a cultural thing, when something is hidden it's get more interesting.
My question is, are men and women equally the same here or is this a typical thing for men and there's really no comparison in women.

What would make women look and cause the same kind of reaction - would you look twice at a man with a few buttons unbuttoned on his shirt, showing a little of his upper chest, or chest hair, or a man with a wifebeater?

I'm not suggesting male celebrities should get out of the taxi without boxers on, trying to mimic Britney Spears "forgetting" to wear panties, but can you compare men showing a little skin, with women doing it?

Another question:
do you sometimes look at a man's crotch, or his ass?

(Maybe at the beach or something, or just in general?)

It's generally not accepted for a man to show skin (upper leg, chest, upper arm, etc), unless it's for a movie role or he's exceptionally good looking.

The general concencus is women are better to look at than men, which is why when you have formal dinners and outings, men are in 3 layers and women in a skimpy paper-thin outfit. It comes down to testosterone; men want to appear more manly, women want to appear less.

Back to topic, I reckon showing chest cleavage is a great thing, especially if you have a muscely chest.

Excuse me, this is the Womens board and if you cant contribute something meaningful without insulting someone, go somewhere else. We need a place that's safe from this kind of stuff.

It's a normal question, you even answered it so i guess it was fine. There's nothing insulting about it so don't go there.

I saw a docu on tv and they "tracked" the eyes of women in a bar with a special device. Turns out that they were constantly checking out the men in the bar. Face/ass/arms/crotch,... afterwards all the women denied it but they were kinda ashamed when they saw the footage. The researchers said women do it unconsciously(?) and much more subtle then men.

Okay they were tracking women in a bar...does that tell you anything about their S.E.S level?

And I agree, I think everything looks without even realising they are. Its natural.

Although men seem to stare whereas woman just glance lol ;D

The women volunteered for it, but they thought they were just gonna do some tests on them. It was a scientific docu about brain functions, and difference between men/women. The "bar thing" was to illustrate it, because women don't admit they do it.

More questions/complaints?
Subconsciously  ;)
Hehe, thx, i knew something was wrong about that.

I look at the man. If he interests me... I might proceed to subtley check out the other parts.
Emphasis on the word subtle. I think all women do whether we realize it or not. We're different from men,
in that we can take a subtle, passing glance, and freeze frame it for later reference, whereas men stare.

We don't like it when you stare at us. It's rude and demeaning and indicates theres only one thing on your mind.
Our natural inclination towards that behaviour is ...NEXT!

Jag, I have to disagree with you on this one.  It's simple:  women like to be ogled by boys who they deem as being cute, handsome, hot, goodlooking, sexy, whatever.  The ones who aren't just don't have the same privileges.  Women don't want to admit it, but we have a bit of narcissism deep within us, and we like to be noticed for our looks...but only by the right guy.

And I do stare at a man's body:  face, arms, crotch, butt, chest, everything.  That is, if I'm interested.  If I'm not and I don't want any attention from that guy, then I do everything to ignore him and go nowhere near him.

It all comes down to who and what we're attracted to.  That is a huge force dictating our actions and reactions towards the opposite sex.

Jodi that what I meant. Obviously if we're interested in him, then we appreciate and are flattered by the attention, but let's face it, we're NOT interested in every single guy we meet, ...and constantly getting that kind of attention from men can be a real turn off.

Yes, we're all narcissistic to some degree, ...and bodybuilders are probably more narcissistic with much more pronounced exhibitionist tendencies than most, ...but constant unwanted attention and stares from the wrong person just makes my skin crawl.

I'm very attuned to the energy that comes from a person, ...and when someone I'm not interested in is sending sexy energy that want to mingle with my sexy energy, ...or is vibrating on a sexual level with me when I'm not in tune with them, it's like getting felt up by the neighbourhood dork. Not fond of it at all, and that's when the walls go up.
