Because Tim throws straight punches, with power, and the perfect defense for the leg kick is a straight cross down the middle. Tim is too tall, and too strong a puncher for people to attempt leg kicks. Bas is a Thai boxing based fighter, he would be able to leg kick better than a wrestling based fighter.
Bulldog's got the correct. Those long arms of Tim's would counter the hell out of almost anybody's kicks.
It's lose/lose for Tim. Couture is so beloved that if he talks shit on Randy, people would probably throw shit at him. If he wins, he beat an older and beloved fighter moving back up to a heavier class. If he loses, he'll have to give up his precious.
