Once upon a time, saddam was useful to, um I guess us, if you believe the CIA always acts in our best interest. He was doing great when he opposed the new iranian government, but when he invaded kuwait, we drew the line and his ass was toast. The US has a growing history of backstabbing it seems, if you serve their interest, you get whatever you want, guns money drugs protection, but if you get a lil out of line, BAM yo ass is grass. I think saddam did the best he could, you have to be savage to savages, and look at the control he wielded. SHould he pay for gassing a bunch of people? SUre.
