Letrozole Dosage????

Ok just switched over to letrozole and arimidex from aromasin.  Hoping for a reduction of gyno, I know it might be a lost cause but I'm going for it.

The dosing on the letrozole for the most part I have found to be kinda sketchy.  From what I have read most ppl start off around 2.0 - 2.5 mg and taper down but sadly they don't tell for how long and in what amounts.  The best idea I have is to take 2.5mg for 5 days then drop to .75 mgs for 3 weeks and then drop to .25 mgs for another month.... very unsure on this though.

 I'm going to continue to try and find more info on this and will post it if I think it is good and reliable but if anyone knows the proper dosages please post them.

I take just 0.50mg letro daily.  Works well and is strong after a while you build it up in your system and the low dose is all you need. Double the dose for the first 2 weeks on the letro to 1.0mg ED to get the stuff in your system and working.

I have to addmitt this is something Iam concerned with.  Probally not the best Idea to run the stuff forever.  I would feel comfortable saying 6 months is OK.  I have been using it for well over a year.  I cant tell you about my current lipid profile as Im pissed at my doctor when I had my prostate checked they ran blood work, but not my cholesterol!  I should have requested it, but was a little freaked about the whole prostate thing at the time.  I feel healthy and have just been sick once in the last year and a half.

You need be very specific and assertive w/ those chicken scratch'n cock-Sukrz! Dont let them play games, fact is you prolly know WAY more about the issue than most any Family Care type Doc. They are runny nose specialists of writing for antiBiotics or not. You seem well versed in that. Go for a "'Internal Med" Dr as your PCP if you can pull it off.
Generaly Much more knowlegdable and open minded. The surgeons and other specialists Ive been in contact are usulay high class acts too. I consider many Family practice ones unfit to even practice.

I run it til the estrogen sides subside like puffy itchy nips and stuff. I take 1.25mg EOD since it has a 48 hour half life and works like a charm with no ill effects or gains and had zero rebound issues when I came off it. Love the stuff.

Yeah I agree, my doc is an internal med doc.  And at the time she was really just worried about my prostate ("the biggest one she ever felt"), so she was not thinking lipids but they ran some other stuff too and I should have told them to check the cholesterol.  They are like you can come back and we will do it when you want, but the less Im at the docs the better, feel like i will catch something just walking in the place....with all those sick fuc*s in there 

And I agree most of us here know much more about the endocrine system and definatly juice then probally 95% of all the docs out there.

Ive dealt w/ them WAY TOO MUCH. Before I leave w/ a script, I make them read it to me in ENGLISH
 even though I can decode a lot of their crapola.

Its really hard to deal w/ That kind. Best to tell them info only on a need to know basis. This is a good subject to ask Freak.

My PCP said, "Testesterone and any steroids will cause bone loss over time, we see it all the time in the hospital on patients who need long term "STEROIDs!" !!  This guy is not fit to practice IMO.

I just said, "yeah, maybe." I had already told the original doc I went to see about this, and although I'm not sure if she approved or not, she did not give me a hard time at all...it wasn't until the hematologist came in that I got the steroid bashing talk.

When i went in to get a prescription for finasteride, I asked my doc about synthetic test and she flat out told me it will make you die a sooner death.  Then like 2 sentences later she tells me she can check to see if my levels are low, and if they are she would write me a prescription for it
