FREEMOTION has one very similar. I reccomend it and I feel it is GREAT for pre-contest. A few weeks out it is excellent for LUNGES one leg at a time really getting a stretch and really squeezing the quad/glute/ham without having to worry about balancing a bar on your back.

I was at Club INdustry in Chicago when Hammer unvailed that tall leg machine.  It was hilarious.  The guy fell (slipped) as he was climbing onto it.  That is the dumbest piece of equipment they have.  We have one in the gym I am at now.  I watched this guy training on it.  He had to keep climbing up and down to change the weight.  It is just stupid and I am surprised it is still around

we used to have a pansy ass machine like that in my old gym, it wasn't a Hammer model but it looked exactly the same, you climbed up into it and the platform moved, you knew it was an easy machine when you'd see skinny geeks using 6 plates on each side on it.

well, most skinny guys can use 6 plates on each side on a normal leg press too

that make them so proud  :)

Personnally, I prefer squat to leg press for the simple reason that I fucking hate loading and unloading plates on the leg press

I use the V-squat ( plate loaded ) it's nothing special. hammer stopped making that other foolish machine years ago.

Yep. thats the one.  They (Precor) also debut the Elliptical and Spinning if I recall that year.  I was the first one to jump on the Elliptical.  That was the year I was working on building the big gym here and Life Fitness flew me out to the show.  Had a nice private tour of the factory.  It was fun but cold there
