many hot girls... they start as business majors. then they move to 'marketing' cause they're more creative than accounting. Then they take finance, and realize that marketing involves lots of numbers and fin mgmt.
so, they become 'communications' majors. i worked in a univ career center as an advisor for 1.5 years, and i saw it 3 times a week without fail.
Girl: "Hi, i'm a communications major, and i want a job in mgmt when i graduate in the spring"
Me: "Okay, what are you looking to work in?"
Girl: "Mgmt."
Me: "Um, okay. Tell me about your internships, interests, current work situation, and goals".
Girl: "I used to work at Startbucks til I got hired at the Gap where I'm asst. manager. I didn't do any internships. I am creative and bright and think i could be a good manager"
Me: "Great. Can I see your creative works portfolio?"
Girl: "I'd like to start at 50,000 a year, cause I think with my Communications degree, I'm definitely worth that much".
Me: "Well, you will need a skillset at least somewhat consistent with that pay level since you lack the experience".
Girl: "I have a car payment and now I gotta repay these loans. And I have great skills in ... people .... management .... creativity... blah blah.
On and on, every time. No skills, experience, or clear vision for what they want to do. But they want to "manage" and they want 50k to start.
