Australian Open - Tennis
« on: January 17, 2007, 06:07:13 AM »
Anyone following it?

I'm gonna take a wild chance and predict federer wins it.

Pretty bold prediction Faust.  Go out on a limb why don't you.   :)

I'm down on tennis because Americans just flat out suck these days.  The Williams sisters are done and we don't really have a great group of female players on the rise.  On the men's side, Roddick is inconsistent.  Blake can play, but probably will not reach the top of the sport.  The American's game is in a funk.

Yeah, I love tennis. Federer will have to get injured or be abducted by aliens not to win. The most impressive athlete since Jordan IMO. The only threat is Roddick, he may have beaten Rog a week ago but he won't when it counts. As for the ladies one of 8-10 girls could win it.

I like Roddick's style of playing. Very agressive, but he lacks "the touch" that federer has.
He makes too many errors and his game is a bit one-sided.

But this could be his tournament. He beat federer a couple of weeks ago.
It would be good for tennis if there were a bit more competition.

I would like to see federer win Roland Garros though. If he does that it would make him the best ever imo.

Oh My God, did anyone see Gonzalez play last night ?. He worked Nadal like a puppet. I haven't seen such an impressive game of tennis since, well since Federer's last game, but Gonzalez will take some beating if he continues to play like this.

Did you hear Sharapova?  She grunts louder than Seles did.

The only one able to beat Federer on hardcourt is IMO Safin, and he's now out.

This one's already in the books as far as I can see it.

Would love for Roddick to put up a fight against Feddie, but this is probably the year Federer will win that Grand Slam.

I would put some money on Gonzalez an S. WIlliams right now.

Odds are in favor of federer and sharapova though.

Well, Federer beat the crap out of Roddick.

At least we have an American in the finals (Serena).

Vaidisova is really cute, but doesn't turn 18 until April.

I don't think that was Federer beating Roddick last night, that had to be GOD surely. Absolutely mindblowing. Some of the shots he pulled off you couldn't even dream about doing. As I type this, I've just finished watching Gonzalez pummel Haas in very impressive fashion. It's going to be an awesome game on Sunday ;D.

Score one for the Americans.   :)  Serena dominated Sharapova.  She's back.  Now watch Hingis retire again . . . .

William sure took Sharapova to school... I predict a similar result when Federer takes the court for the mens final.

Haha, the best where the commentators. They Made no bones about it. They where like, yeah William destroyed sherapovas life. "Sherapova never had a chance". "Complete and utter domination". Which it was, but funny to hear being reported like it was. Usually they sugar coat shat in other sports.

sharapova is always pumping her fist etc..but the bitch met a whore who was even more hungry. williams really wanted to show the bitch sharapova...you could really see that she was thinking to herself i really wanna beat that slut so bad..
and sharapova was totally crushed mentally was so funny to see...

williams highest level is higher than sharapovas. but i predict williams wont be able to play at this level all the time tho.
