The discus.

He was throwing well over 60 meters I believe.

The guy is tall and really big, so he has the structure for it.

The greatest discus thrower ever, Lars Riedel of Germany, is 6'5'' and weighs 250 lbs. Lean.

Discus, I was throwing 196' in Sept or Oct. of 97'.  That was with about 3 to 4 months of throwing.  I have never thrown a discus before.  WhenI ordered some on the phone from a supplier they asked me all kinds of questions.  What weight, what diameter, what thinkness, what material.  I didn't know anything.  I just told the guy I wanted to try out for the Olympics in 2000.  SO he sent me what I needed.  I had 3 ruber ones too.  I had a carrying bag for them and carried them everywhere I went.  I moved to LA to train in Dec that year.  I got bit on March 1, 1998 and that ended it all.

At the time a German held the record he got in 1976 I think.  I think the record them was 243'  So with about 2+ years to train I am pretty sure I could have done some damage.

What got you into the discus? Ever try shotput?

Yes I tried butwas discouraged.  very hard and I trained at the YMCA then and they had a lap pool.  You passed by it everytime you go.  It is exactly 75' which is the world record at the time.  It just seemed so far to me.  I gave up on that one.
