You could tell from these pics he would become Mr. Olympia sooner or later.

Ronnie is awesome there....but he just doesn't have the "look" that he did when he started winning the Olympias, if you know what I mean.

Also, Ronnie on BFTO 96 is one of the sickest things I have ever seen in my life.

I don't know man, my impression is that not a lot saw him coming. People seemed to be more focused on who   had been 2nd, 3rd etc.

That is my vague recollection as well.  I do remember one article in a Flex around the time by a mysterious IFBB Pro and his comments about Ronnie were not too flattering.  Basically his chest is too long for his torso and that he wouldn't win the Mr O...it is times like this I wish I still had those mags...

when I first noticed Ronnie he was an also ran at pro shows back in 92ish.  I remember thinking if he ever did "roids" he'd bury everyone...he used to say he was natural and I was niave enough to believe him.  He improved alot over the next few years and when he finally won a pro show-beating Flex wheeler there wasn't a person happier for him than me.  I was happy as hell when he won his first olympia...but, I was pulling for Kevin or Shawn.

There's no way Ronnie was natural when he got his pro-card, not a chance in hell....I highly believe he was using back in his college football days...

Whoever it was did have a point , Ronnie has a short torso and long legs it some shots it more noticebale than others.

the potential is fulfilled 8)

Ronnie looked good at that show, but he lacked the refinement that would later bring him 8 Mr. Olympia titles (and an Arnold Classic win too 8))
