66 Shelby Cobra Sells for 5 MILLION

Barrett Jackson tonight, Carol Shelby's PERSONAL 66 Cobra  Twin Supercharged, 800 hp just sold for 5 MILLION bucks. 



A few Hemi's went for over 500,000 these damn people have WAY too money....

Did'nt actually catch the miles, Carol Shelby spoke and said he got pulled over doing 190 in it   ;D

Dark Blue, Twin Scharges blowing through Dual Holley's, very nice car.  I would have rather had the 71 Cuda with 800 hp that sold for 535,000...

it doesnt matter,there are only 3 66 shelby 427 a/c cobra's left on the planet

There were actually 2 of those 800 hp Cobra's made. The second one was for Bill Cosby. The rumor is the car was so brutally powerful that he was fearful to drive it. Which might have been prophetic since one of the future owners crashed it and died.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAH. Carrol Shelby name carries a lot more weight than Lambo does. Hell, the man won Le Mans, Lambo has no real racing history, which why a caparable priced Ferrari sells for more on the aftermarket.

66 Shelby Cobra is a clasic. But honeslty, would you pay 5 million for it? In my opinion, I would rather own a Lambo or Ferrari that had a killer engine and specs over that Cobra. So you have 900 horsepower, so what, you going to just do a 1/4 mile everytime you drive. That car is not meant for city driving anyway.

the cobra was not built for 1/4 mile,it was built for le mans which it won several times. that is the most prestigious race of all times.

still to this day lambo hasn't built a damn thing that could compare.

The 289 Cobra is better to drive than the 427 and the 289 is wanted more even though is isn't as expensive.  Going up a mountain a 289 will beat a 427.

Very pretty car.  And it was Carrolls.  I've driven it both the 427 and 289.  There was a guy in Boca Raton who collected them.  He had 4 of them.  All I can say is awesome.
