Ha! What is wrong with people??
« on: January 22, 2007, 10:30:04 AM »
Just got this email-sent to my personal email address, obviously this person is trying to mess with me (and however many other people they sent it to).  But what is the point....anyway I thought it was funny and wanted to share :)

Hi,
I am new to the area, I am an auditor for careerone and just moved here
for my job. So recent that I am still looking for apartments. I work
downtown, but location of a gym doesnt matter to me. I am looking for a
good gym because I am very serious about my training.
I am looking for a workout partner, personal trainer and a gym. I was
referrred to you by a co-worker, who was referred to you by a girl I work
with.... Jennifer Reid, she was told about you by her friend I guess is
how she heard of you.
I was wondering if you might be able recommend a good gym and workout
partner and personal trainer. No offense but I am really serious about my
lifting and I think you might be a little out of your area or uncomfortable
trying to workout with me or even train me. Not sure if you have ever tried
weight training or if you have ever worked out with men before. I'm not
bragging, I know I'm not the biggest guy by far compared to football players
or bodybuilders, but I have always been into lifting.
I am nearly 5'5" and almost 125 lbs at less than 5% bodyfat (I am all muscle
basically). I probably lift way too heavy for you, I dont do %lbs weights
for aerobics.
I lift not so heavy for a guy, but way heavy for any girl, and I am
contineously trying to lift heavier and heavier!
Example: my 1 rep benchpress max is now up to 110lbs now! I do reps with
85lbs for 8 reps and can go up to 95lbs for 2 to 3 reps
incline bench I do 85 for 1 rep max and 65lbs for reps
flatbench w/ 25lbs dumbells ea hand and incline bench w/ 20's ea hand for
reps
bicep curls.... 15lbs for reps w/ just 1 arm! 30lbs for reps on the bar w/
2 arms
I can curl as much as 25lbs w/ just 1 arm for my 1 rep max! and as much as
45lbs bar for my 1 rep max 2arm bicep curl
I squat my own body weight 125lbs for 3 reps, my 1 rep max is 135!
lat pull downs w/ 60lbs for reps
I can legpress 180lbs for my 1 rep max and I do reps on legpress w/ 150lbs!
Not trying to intimidate you by throwing these numbers in your face, just
want you to realize I am very serious and probably alot more serious about
weight training than what you are accustomed.
This is why maybe you would not feel so comfortable in training me.
But perhaps you could reccommend someone who is a trainer, a gym and a
workout partner.

Thats nothing new, Beast. You'll always get people that think they know, but don't have a clue. Just delete it, have a laugh and go win your next show  ;)

You'd be surprised how many people are generally clueless about modern day bodybuilding and its lifestyle.

You know what's really funny? I got a similar email about 6 months ago. I gathered up the bodybuilders in the gym to read it and we all just laughed out asses off. I'm laughing again!
