Memento (2001), filmed in reverse sequence, check it out

Synopsis: "Plagued by a rare type of short-term memory loss, Leonard Shelby keeps notes for himself in the form of snapshot photographs and tattoos. As the film begins, Leonard is in the midst of a quest to find and kill the man who raped and murdered his wife."

I was thinking of that "Eternal Sunsine of the spotless mind" or something like that.

Watched that with my girl in college, and i was trying to get some ass, but she wanted to watch "this really sad movie"...and i was so stunned at how messed up it was.  I didn't get any that night.   :-\

Actually that one was trippy... especially the scenes in the apartment. And that wallpaper!

My first thought when I clicked on this thread...
Haha. Some of the monologues are just too sweet.

"Raoul Duke: We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a saltshaker half-full of cocaine, and a whole multi colored collection of uppers, downers, laughers, screamers... Also, a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether, and two dozen amyls. Not that we needed all that for the trip, but once you get into a serious drug collection, the tendency is to push it as far as you can. The only thing that really worried me was the ether. There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge, and I knew we'd get into that rotten stuff pretty soon. "

"Raoul Duke: I wouldn't dare go to sleep with you wandering around with a head full of acid, wanting to slice me up with that goddamn knife.
Dr. Gonzo: Who said anything about slicing you up, man? I just wanted to carve a little Z on your forehead. "

"Dr. Gonzo: We won't make the nut unless we have unlimited credit.
Raoul Duke: Jesus Christ, we will, man. You Samoans are all the same. You have no faith in the essential decency of the white man's culture. "

wow, I was going to say Romeo and Juliette, the black and white one
which is perhaps the first film I saw.

I'd go for the Bowie movie, I saw that  ...and the man who fell to earth and the war one with Merry Christmas Mr Lawrence in it?  Nominate Bowie for an Oscar.

I haven't seen the Fear nLoathing film.  Can't wait.  Of course I read the book, probably when it first came out.  I can't remember how old I am.  I was livin it and was probably on recreational drugs.

Love Johnny Depp, can't wait to see that movie...  Is it out on vid yet?  I haven't ever used the DVD player on my computer.

When I lived in Toronto, we used to smoke a spliff in the queue (line-up) outside and go and see every movie the day it came out.  Now I'm living in London and I've missed 10 years of flicks.
What else have I missed?

I never saw Clockwork Orange either...

There are a few films I'm saving till I'm in the right mood.
xL

Grounhog Day is trippy, but they put it on TV like twice a year and I've seen it too many times.

thanks dan, for that reminder.  How many times have you seen it?  Did you get up and dance?

I'm writing down all the movies you recommend.  Something to do in February.  All of them so far (the ones I've been saving) are already on my list.

How about that one about Dinner with Antoine?  I've not seen that and it must be trippy as I read that it was 90 minutes of two people talking to each other.

That was My Dinner with Andre -- Andre Gregory.

I wouldn't call it trippy.  It's just a quiet little movie with Wally Shawn asking AG a lot of questions and him answering with thoughtful, gentle, erudite musings.
