Baking Cookies for the first time EVER!!

I am doing this right now.  It is sort of fun.

I just put them in the oven to bake now...we shall see what they look and taste like in about 3 minutes.  I am making chocolate chip by the way, but I did not have any vanilla extract, so I used almond extract instead.  I will let you know how they work out.


Any suggestions or similar experiences?

lol i always laugh at that one also.

I just felt like doing it.  My mother gave me this "jar" that contained the correct amount of flour, sugar, and chocolate chips.  All I had to add was the butter, eggs, and some vanilla extract.  As I said, I didn't have any vanilla extract, so I used the almond extract instead....I just took one off the cookie sheet and it is SUPER SWEET!! I may start a revolution with these bc they are so good.

I can mail some to anyone...who wants to try them?

So I think they are a little undercooked....they are not very good when they cooled.

I have to put them in the microwave before I eat them.  no biggy.

3 minutes    Should be about 8-10 (350-375).  I hope you did not use the same amount of almond as a substitute for vanilla    Usually, it's 1 teaspoon of vanilla (or more), but with almond, that would be really strong.

No No No...I already had them in for 5-6 minutes when I said I only had 3 mins left before I take them out.

As I test them this morning they are a little strong with the almond extract, bc I did use the same tablespoon size that they asked for in vanilla!    I think they could have been cooked some more, but the recipe said they "would look undercooked" at about the 10 min mark, so take them out bc if you wait till they "look" cooked, then they burn...so I don't know if I shoudl have given them a couple more minutes or what.  Maybe make the balls a little smaller?  (haha, use smaller balls...lol at me).

well....I have a house of my own....so walking around naked is not an issue.  Haha just picture some bodybuilder wearing an apron (with a steelers emblem on it), holding a cookie sheet.  lol

I am closer to philly but hate the eagles, my sister went to college out near pittsburgh and her boyfriend was the biggest pittsburgh fan and got me into them when I was like 9-10. I also lived out that way for a few months and annually head out to state college to party and they are all about the steelers out there.
