There is no way Tyson is 5ft 11 1/2 inches like it said there.  He's more like 5'8'' or 5'7''.  I stood next to him and dwarfed him.

Dont talk about things you don't understand.  Taking nothing away from Holyfield, whos an All Time Great.. the Tyson he fought was a shadow of the one that fought in the 80's.  No head movement, the combination punching was gone and his defense was pretty much non existent.  The Tyson of the 80's had everything.  Tyson of 95 - 96 was basically winning on fear, people being afraid of him.  He could stil bang and had speed, but compared to the fighter that he was pre 89, he was nothing.

Prime Holyfiend Vs Prime Tyson is a 50-50 fight.

I agree... Tyson's fans created a myth that, in my opinion doesn't exist, he was a good fighter, but in boxing everything is "managed", and his career was "manage" to sell... And it is true, he lost for the first big top rank heavyweight fighter...

Back to bodybuilding:  Did U know that Lee Haney trained Holyfield?
Similarly, Kobe Bryant came to Paul Dillet for help when he was 19. (I was right there watching him break him in the first week; Kobe was such a skinny thang.)  Credit for the dramatic difference in their physiques and improved performance can be shared with these men.  Bodybuilders.

a prime Tyson with proper training and hunger is the best of all times. no doubt about it. unfortunately he lost it just as soon as he became a champion. if u watch all his fights dating back to his teen days, you will see he just didnt move the same way even before he was knocked out by Buster Douglas. That fire in his eyes was lost.

I don't think Tyson was overated. He was a great fighter who beat evryone put  put infront of him up until Douglas and then Holyfield.  Douglas was a great fighter when he wanted to be.

Sure, Tyson wasn't in his prime but neither was holyfield.  You could argue that holyfield was even futher beyond his pime than Tyson. He'd bern in many, many more tough fights than tyson, had been fighting longer and more frquently than Tyson.  Had tyson won that fight against Douglas and fought Holyfield back in 1990 when they were in their prime, i think the result would have been the same. Styles make fights and holyfield had the style to beat tyson.

  i dissagree, both in their prime, Holyfield would be win. Evander is arguably one of the best counter punchers ever. Tyson being aggressive would play into Evanders best attribute. Holyfield is comfortable going the distance and being in out and out brawls. Yes Tyson has tremedous power, but you forget that Evander beat George Foreman who yes was 46 at the time but he was the hardest hitting heavyweaight ever. as you get older you lose your reaction time but not your power. Just look at the fight between Foreman and Michale Moorer. George knocked him out with one punch easily. Holyfield can take a punch much better than Tyson. being objuective Tyson probably wont be in the top ten heavyweight champs ever. he was exciting and if he had a proper mentor who knows but from what we have so far we was inferior to many quality champs.

 he was only 42? geez. that seems not so  old now compared to the heavyweight div today. Evender is older than that now. those were my favorite years in boxing. you had the Holyfield/Bowe trilogy, Foreman/Holyfield a young Lennox Lewis, Foreman/Moorer, Holyfield/Moorer if Tyson wasnt in prison that would have been a great time in the heavyweight division.

Did you the 1st Castillo v Corales fight? I would put that ahead of these because each round was as action packed as Hagler/Hearns but 10 rounds instead of three.  Definately more action for 10 rounds than Holyfield v Tyson.

What about Leonard - Hagler? And you can't discount Ali-Foreman.

BTW, it always annoyed me that "Sugar Ray" Leonard had to steal his nickname from the greatest boxer that ever lived: Sugar Ray Robinson. (That's one of the reasons i was rooting for Hagler ;))
