Has anyone ever seen a scientific study backing up the efficacy of huge protein intake that wasn't published in a bodybuilding magazine whose livelihood depended on advertising from protein supplement companies?
lous a close friend of the family and what he said back then is true, however when he came back in 1993-1995 at over 300lbs on stage he ate 400+
Looks like he should have stuck with the lowered protein. hahahahHe looked worse when he came back. (Of course I know it was just the different drugs)
1992 comeback, Lou was consuming 330g a day. Showed up onstage at 298. Hope this helps unfeed into your dellusion Adam.
Q: Lou, do you subscribe to the high protein diet theory? I've heard that most of the bigger guys like you eat 300-400 grams of protein per day"A: I consume much less protein than that. Despite the fact that I weight 270 pounds in hard condition, I eat only about 150 grams of protein a day. This was back in 1980 - 26-27 years ago.
I'm sure this was accurate..for the timeframe listed. In 1980, LOu had been retired from competition for 5 years....why would he be ingesting more than that anyway?
High Protein is a joke.
Very true, the RDA of .8g per pound of lean body mass is actually higher than whats really required, it was rounded up to account for standard deviation.
Exactly.
Couch potatoes and pro athletes have completely different protein requirements. Just as they have differerent sleep and water requirements.
Bodybuilders are not athletes. The only difference between a bodybuilder and a couch potato are 45 minutes and some dumbells a few times a week.
So why do you bodybuild? Why do you obsesses all evening about fucking protein gram amount?
Its good for my body and I like the way I look.
