2007 NPC Junior California - LT's show
« on: January 30, 2007, 10:42:55 PM »

Well - every year, I have the pleasure of attenting Lonnie Teper's NPC Junior California show in Pasadena, California. This year, the event is Saturday, June 23, 2007, at Sexson Auditorium, on the campus of Pasadena City College.

Last year, Gunter Schlierkamp was the guest poser, and as always, thrilled the crowd. This year, none other than Mr. Olympia Jay Cutler will guest pose!

Check out the site at www.npcjuniorcal.com - and make some plans to get there! Both bodybuilding.com and getbig.com will cover it, of course, and as always, will have lots of fun!

LT's show has gotten bigger every year and does a good job with his NPC event.

Maybe Lonnie will do a dance on stage this year like he did at the Europa Super show.

I've heard a lot of good things about Teper's contest, both in the quality of the competitors and in the overall production, and am planning to go this year. Having Cutler there after his Mr. Olympia victory is awesome! I just checked out the contest website and it was done very well. Looks like a first rate show at a beautiful venue.I love Pasadena, especially Old Town and its tons of restaurants!

Is the Sheralyn Roy who won the Figure the same lady who goes with Mike O'Hearn? She was in the top 10 at the USA, so the caliber of the Junior Cal must be very good.

Didn't Ray Arde, who got his pro card last year, win Teper's show a few years back?

ARDE WON IT IN 99 WHEN IT WAS THE COLLEGIATE CAL.  I DID IT IN 2000. IT WAS A REALLY FUN SHOW

IT'S A GOOD SHOW FOR SOMEONE TO DO AS THEIR FIRST COMPETITION.  YOU GET A LOT OF EXPOSURE.  LONNIE ALWAYS GETS GREAT GUEST POSERS  RONNIE,JAY, LEE....

Shouldn't Jay be focusing on his Olympia title defense at this time?

Hey Ron...do you ever make it out to Chicago for JRNATS?

Lonnie really puts a lot of effort into pleasing the fans and the athletes!
This show has outgrown the Cal in terms of popularity and attendance!
I'll be there LT and I';ll bring your boy Levrone! ;)

That pic is a little flakey, Shawn. What's Kevin whispering in his ear, there? A sweet little nothing?

That picture was when Lonnie and Kevin were in a special photo booth at the Key Club, when they were singing away (I hope the video comes out). Did you guys know that both LT and Kevin are good singers!

Well, Ray Arde did win Lonnie's first contest back when it was called the California Collegiates. Sherilyn was with O'Hearn at the show last year, but am not sure of their relationship currently. Oh, and Arde isn't the only person who has competed in Lonnie's contest to turn pro. Figure competitors Masae Parker and Mary Jo Cooke got their pro cards a couple of years back.

Last year's contest was the best yet, with the largest numbers of contestants and fans ever. I think it will grow even more this year, too. There will be good publicty from this contest, and Lonnie will feature the show in his column via Ironman Magazine. The winners also will be featured as Graphic Muscle Stars in the magazine as well. I will be there having fun, takings pics, etc. And yes, the best part of the contest is that it's only a mile or two away from the Pasadena Cheesecake Factory in old town, where we all go after the show, and stick LT with the bill! See you there!

P.S. Shawn, I didnt know LT sells houses! Teaching, real estate, 18 emcee contests a year, promoter, cheesecake eater - the man does it all...

Would like to, but with full time working, and two small kids - it is harder than it looks. Especially if it falls on a weekend in which there is a family event, etc.

How come you never come out to Pasadena either for the Ironman or Lonnie's show!
