Rage = very easy to play. Morello is from a guitarist point of view nothing special at all. He usually plays straight pentatonic solos (his riffs = mostly pentatonic as well), and his technical ability is not very good. He can do some ok alternate picking, but that is it. So far he has not proven to be able to play over any complex chord progressions, he has not done any difficult technical stuff or recorded anything that should be a huge challenge for a mediocre guitar player.
He has been quite innovative with the effects though, and he has a unique style, but reproducing Rage's bass or guitar parts is very easy, even for an intermediate guitar or bassplayer.

Debussey does not think Rage themselves even gives a shit about how difficult their songs are..

Rankings such as "Rolling Stone magazine's list of 100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time" are not based on actual skill.. There are hundreds of thousands of guitarplayers around the world that = 100x better than 99% of the players on that list. You can find them in most conservatories.. Lists such as these are based on popularity and cultural impact, not skill. There are tens of thousands of 14 year old players that can play things Morello could only dream of playing..

Most people would never understand why this is true before they become proficient at the guitar themselves though.. Kurt Cobain is ranked as #12 on the list you quoted. Kurt Cobain could not play guitar at all, he sucked like there is no tomorrow. He made some cool songs though.

i have never heard a guitar sound like the way he plays it..very very unique.he relys on alot distortars,whammy,wah ha pedal.also he really knows how to use the toggle switch.what ever you say but in my eyes hes the best.his guitar playing is completely different
