Would having Shawn or Flex as Mr. O have changed what they Olympia bodies would have looked like? No more big bellies, wrinkly skin on backs, and size, just for size sake? Would that have taken bbing to another level, being that Shawn already had a show on Espn back in the day, and Flex was linked to Dr. Dre, bridging a gap to the hip-hop culture. Both making it cool to workout, both having two distinct styles, like Kenneth Cole shoes versus Wheat colored Timerlands.

Or would it not matter, and we would still see the Gh guts and. deformed bodies

Thats what they say , if a smaller more aesthetic guy wins everyone would try and go that route , like when Yates won at 257 pounds in 93 everyone decided bigger is better and everyone started playing the size game

I think had flex or shawn or even labrada won there would of been endorsments from fortune 500 companies, like Nike, Reebok etc etc..

Apparently Kevin Levrone was working with Nike in developing a training shoe. It was called The Ghost...because it never appeared.

With Shawn's connections and polished image as a ladies man, and Flex's image as a cocky playa , they both would have taken the spor to the next level. Flex probably would have been in more than just one Dr. Dre video.

Flex, Shawn, or Kevin... either of them could have taken the sport in a new and I believe better direction... simply because they were not going to play the "MASS" game with anyone who came along... they would without a doubt played the better is better, not bigger is better game.

The sport needs an aesthetic guy to win. Needs to change its image big time. The same folks who go to shows will still go, but we need new fans that aspire to look like the physiques on stage and that's what will get them into bodybuilding.

the whole thing with nike and levorne thing is true. from what i was told, the deal didn't amount to anything because weider got in the middle of it. apparently, wieder was piseed that kevin/nike didn't ask weider for his permission. rumor has it that's one of the underlying reasons why levrone never won the olympia !!!!!

What do you guys mean when you talk about making bodybuilding more marketable? Do you honestly think mainstream media, companies and the public would be aware of who Mr Olympia is, much less give a shit or offer endorsement contracts? Shawn would probably have been the best spokesperson for BBing after Arnold. He had the look that many could appeal to as opposed to DOz and the Racist. Jay is more marketable because he is white, literate and can put together a coherent thought. Shawn actualyl has intelligence. Flex is an idiot with a lisp, do you really want him being a spokesperson for BBing. In terms of just speaking ability, I think Shawn and/or Bob are best suited. Kevin was a great BBer but in M3 he sounded retarded.
