BB magazines, no longer carried at major stores in Canada?
« on: February 04, 2007, 07:12:28 AM »
I went to Chapters/Indigo (Canadian equivalent to Barnes and Noble), a huge outlet with tons of books and probably the most extensive magazine collection you could find short of going to a magazine store.

As I went by the magazine section, I realized there were no more bb magazines there. None. No Flex, No MD, No muscle and fitness...Nothing.

I checked all the sections (Fitness, Health, Men's Interest etc....) gone. Not one. The closest thing was men's health and oxygen magazine.

I find it interesting how they have a ton of other niche "sports" like mountainbiking, kayaking etc...but not one BB magazine.

Do they still carry them at major US stores?

Chapters is very similar to Borders or B&N, was created as a reaction to the threat of both companies in Canada, much like some other industries there. Same wide assortment of BB mags seen in B&N, must've been sold out where you were.

I buy my BB magazines at Chapters, and the ones here in Toronto still sell them.
