Man robs, binds clerk at nutrition store

 GREENSBORO — A man robbed a GNC store Sunday afternoon after bounding the clerk at knifepoint, police reported.

The clerk told Greensboro police a man entered the store at 3724-J Battleground Ave. wearing a mask and armed with a knife.

He forced her to the rear storage area and bound her with a flex cuff, police said.

He then threatened her and returned to the main part of the store, taking cash from the register and several bags of GNC products, police said.

He fled on foot toward Battleground Avenue.

Police ask people with information to call Crimestoppers at 373-1000.

 CORPORATE GNC always takes that measure and always assumes for saftey reasons that the employee was 'in on it' as well, they usually are.

Yup! I know old GNC employees who used to rob their own store of MT products...and drive across town to another GNC and return it all for a full cash REFUND and pretend they couldnt find the reciept.

because they are geniuses....i was in there the other day and some 40 year old overweight guy was asking about weightgainer and was ready to buy the overpriced BSN stuff and the sales clerk tried to talk him out of it. at first i was thinking 'well that's nice of him to do'. not rip the guy off, but then his suggestion was for the guy to buy two different whey protein products with no carbs and mix them together. he said it would be cheaper.....

I used to work for GNC when I was in college.  So true you wouldn't believe it.
