has a sad figure - though it's not entirely unrelated...
Maybe the Anna Nicole thing just has me morbid. But just now I was ridiculing Jay's GH jaw over in that "The new Max Muscle clothing gear collection" thread -
http://www.getbig.com/boards/index.php?topic=126021.0 . When I reminded myself that he's going to carry this self-induced deformity for the rest of his life.
Now of course Jay knew in advance that roiding to his extreme carried this kind of risk. And for all I know, it's a trade-off he'd be willing to make again if he had to - in order to have the financial security he's achieved.
But it still seems like a sad story to me. By all accounts, he's a decent guy - probably not in the top 10% of his graduation class, but that isn't a crime. Always had to keep working to help his family get by. Found a nice girl and wanted to make a better life for her than blue-collar wages would have paid for. So he took his one conspicuous talent and exploited it with, as measured by any sane standards, an inhuman level of dedication and discipline. And it worked.
But damn, what a high price to pay.
