Essentially it is synthetic heroin.

It does not give you the same "high" that heroin does.

But is effective at soothing the withdrawal symptoms that heroin addicts have when trying to quit.

But, i've heard that it gives you one hell of a body buzz.

its a drug...ya it gets you high.  people in rehab usually use it to kick out some other addiction, usually of a stronger drug.  Most of the time cocaine.

its like those stupid patches and gums that people take when they try to quit smoking, its basically just nicotine.  but its weaker, so it makes it easier to quit like that instead of cold turkey

I've taken methadone recreationally a few times years ago (behind me now) Amazing buzz very strong. It can kill newbies cause it takes a couple hours to kicks in and people re dose not realizing this. They stop breathing. It's heroin without the rush.

I`ve known heroin addicts that continue using heroin while going to a clinic for methadone,also know a couple who quit heroin but got addicted to methadone............... ....psychologically anyway,if not physically.

It will get you as high as hell.................... .nothing to fuck with.

Kinda weird usually an addict would not get more than one or two dosis of methadone per day deffiantly
not the amount she had in her fridge - the whole point about addicts is that they cannot say no and
methadone makes you high as well, it doesn't have to be injected and its synthetic.

Back in the day,a doctor would prescribe a whole bottle for the addict to take home and refrigerate.

When I was a kid,I was at a friends house and he opened his fridge and there was a bottle of methadone............... .his mother was an addict.

The stuff looked like orange juice in a brown bottle.

A close friend of mine has been on methadone for 18 years and his doc is always amazed that he's still alive.
Getting away from it is nearly impossible because even being clean for over a year doesn't guarantee that the withdrawal symptoms are gone. You would have to be extra determined with a definite goal in mind(life, job, starting all over) which for most "oldschool" dudes is out of question.
