1. While I know the Governor, I've never been friends on a personal level....I was with Lou.

2. He's the Governor

3. His status as an Icon of the sport is unparalleled by anyone, including Lou...

4. As the Governor, he's somewhat limited in what he's willing (or able) to answer...to ask specific questions that you know he couldn't answer would be a waste of time and may have been taken as being rude.

5. Keeping a modicum of journalistic integrity is what separates us from the pack, and insures our continued success.

due to the fact Arnold doesnt need to be bothered with bodybuilding...or bodybuilding fans anymore...he could just end the interview if he didnt like the questions and he'd wouldnt care less about what any fans think.

Lou needs bodybuilding (in his mind), he doesnt really have a life outside the industry...so its easier to ask a guy like Lou tougher questions.

Chick was interviewing somebody he had a poster of in his bedroom wall when growing up... Arnold is one of the most remarkable HUMAN BEINGS on this planet...yea I said it..HE is the Gov. of Calif....he is tryin to be PRESIDENT one day.

when it comes to arnold u just have to be grateful that he took time out for the interview....

he is on that sort of level (probably the most famous person in the world)....and he agrees to do the interview...u have to respect that and there is an underlieing understanding of not to ask any smart ass questions (even though the fans would love to hear it)

ps- great interview bob....it was amazing after all these years to finally hear those questions answered.

ur show is one of the best things to happen in bodybuilding.

I believe he was talking about street drugs, which ruin (and take) lives.....

I'm not anti-Dorian, just think it's debatable that Nasser wasn't better that day....

Excellent question. He used to famous for asking for such questions before Oprah, etc. and not deviating from the script. Why he always came off smoothly. I think in a real free-for-all, he'd be as lost as Bush.  :-\

I thought you did an awesome job Bob. I agree that Arnold would have or could have ended the interview very abruptly had he been asked the wrong question.

I’m just wondering if you got any chance at all to talk to him off the air.

In the past, you've boasted when a guest made a point of saying that no questions were off limits. I would assume that Arnold didn't make the same offer.  :)
