Your favourite 80's Action movie?
« on: February 14, 2007, 01:44:24 PM »
Seeing as Commando was on just last night I figured I'd take a poll and see what everyone's favourite 80's action movie is/was..  mine was probably DELTA FORCE with Chuck Norris.

The Best of the Best is awesome. "To save a life in defeat is to earn victory and honor with it. Your brother too was a great fighter, I deeply regret your loss and offer myself as your brother".

No Retreat, No Surrender (the first one) - One of Van Damme's first movie roles. A terribly acted movie, but fun to watch.

Aliens

Last Starfighter

Raiders of the Lost Ark
The answer is "yes".

You liked No Retreat No Surrender 2: Blood Brothers more than the original??  That's crazy.

What about "the last dragon" staring Bruce Leroy?

First Blood
To this day the scene at the very end where he is talking to Troutman...

"...he was  like I wanna Go Home, Johnny, I wanna Go Home...and I was trying to put my friend together but I cant find his legs...I cant find his legs...

...can't get it out of my mind...I wake up and I dont know where I am...i dont talk to nobody...not for a day...sometimes not for a week...."

That part gives me goosebumps and still chokes me up.

"...over there I was in charge of million dollar equipment, over here I cant even hold down a job...PARKING CARS! "

yes i love that scene. i understand what you mean 100%. there was actually an alternative ending to first blood but they didnt use it, thank god. Also love the beginning of the movie when he comes walking down the road with the music in the background. a special feeling.

Yep.

What was the alternate ending? I remember reading about it once but I forgot it. Was it very violent?

Yea...it was. He realized that his friend died from cancer. He just wanted something to eat.

"...this wouldnt have happened if it wasnt for that bigshot cop...all I wanted was something to eat..."

" They drew FIRST BLOOD, sir not me...they drew first blood..."

"...to live off the land, to eat things that would make a Billy Goat puke...in Vietnam his job was to dispose of enemy personel...TO KILL. Peroid. "

 That was Stallone's BEST!

Remember when he jumps out the bushes and grabs Brian Dennehey and he wa slike..."dont PUSH IT...I'll give you a war you wont believe...let it go...LET IT GO..."

 Powerful scene!
