So I read the article looking for the "Republican" angle to support the title of this thread and, unsurprisingly, it doesn't exist.  In fact, Democrat and Republican Senators expressed concern over this:

"Last week, Sens. Daniel K. Akaka (D-Hawaii) and Larry E. Craig (Idaho) -- the chairman and ranking Republican on the Veterans' Affairs Committee -- wrote David S.C. Chu, undersecretary of defense for personnel, of their "deep concern" about VA trauma center doctors not having access to complete records."

The people who run the white house also run the pentagon.

Now you know - and knowing is half the battle.

Not all of the people who "run the Pentagon" are presidential appointees and there is nothing in the article that says this policy originated from a presidential appointee.  It may have, might not have.  And as the excerpt I quoted shows, a Republican Senator expressed concerns about the policy.  Simply put, the substance of the article does not support the title of the thread.

Great answer!

Wrong as a handjob in church, but great!

War is a machine..it has nothing to do with the men..it's the money and the prestige gained from it that governments look to...if you think this is any different this shit has been happening from the end of the civil war to the first world war vets---look up ''the bonus army'' and you'll see a bunch of war vets shit on by military men as famous as douglas mcarthur....ww2 vets received a whole lot more with the gi bill and such but still had to fight the VA tooth and nail for disability insurance...same with korean vets and well, we know what happened with vietnam...
footloose and fancy free

To be fair, the pentagon is run by apointees made by Bush.

IF a democrat in the pentagon was responsible for hating on the troops like this, you'd have tony snow doing hamlet for the white house press corps, going on and on about the tragedy of it all.

this is a policy issue, and policy has been set for the last 6 years in the pentagon by rummy then gates, both bush boys.

please refrain from not blaming who is responsible.
