If I looked like Arnold I wouldn't care if it was 500 or 5lb weights. Franco said Arnold was a successful powerlifter so I say yes.

you are so funny...im 40 years...215lb..way from ripped...my personal best is 410 and it is nothing special....i guess arnold at his best was way stronger

400 will not be a big deal for me. bear in mind i am 20. 1rm is around 350lbs. have 5 years. and am over 6'3. def possible.

oh and for the ppl interested i have started a bbuilding routine properly. fucking sore all over lol

ive never seen pics or clips of him pressing anything near 500, and what i have seen shows me he never went near that weight. So he had an enormous chest, does that automatically mean he could bench 500? Does it fuck. There have been smaller guys who could so alot MORE than that, but bigger guys who could do nowhere near that. Look passed the muscles and use your brains folks. He was never a 500 bencher

I'd believe low to mid 400's for Arnold. If you look at the PL records for lifters in his weight class, most were only maxing in the 450-525 range.

But we are to believe a man who gave up his powerlifting/WL roots early on, was beating men with far more experience?
