« on: February 25, 2007, 03:48:10 PM »
So I noticed there is alot going on with wheat pasta... namely protein! There is significant protein per serving in this stuff..(dont feel like getting up to read the box) but anyhow, anyone else eating it up?  Is it good for a bodybuilder thats trying to get lean?

No, its a great source of complex carbs and fibre. But not protein..

Have a look on the on the packaging. how much protein does it contain for every 100 grams?

Most pasta is made from flour and eggs so there is obviously going to be some protein in it. But you would be lucky if there is 10 grams of protein per 100 grams of pasta...

And I would add that the Biological Value of pasta's protein is around 80%, which means it doesn't possess all the essential aminos. Excellente source of complex carbs though...

true, its incomplete- but Im thinking wheat pastas are the way to go as far as carb source- forget about any other white carb source.
