9 reps on the #1 isn't impressive. I don't think that will translate into being able to close the #2
I use the #1 for warmups (i can rep it til i get bored); I use the #2 for sets of between 5 to 10 reps, and the #3 still feels like a brick. I can't close it using both hands at once. I don't own a #4 ..
I wouldn't even think of closing the #3 until you can close the #2 as though it were a toy.
