you said the bar never touches the ground when you do this, and luke wanted to clarify that it has to come at least within 3 inches of the ground or it doesn't count as a rep, that way you don't start doing half reps.

The bar never touches the ground for rest.

You do 30-40.  Then rest in the completed deadlift position with the bar in your hands until you catch your breath....Do more...Rest if needed until you get to 112.

Each rep is a full rep.

I deadlifted 225 for 112 times. Here is how I did it.
I used straps. I did as many as I could.  I then rested with the bar in my hands. I DID NOT PUT THE BAR DOWN, then continued.  I think it took about 5 minutes or so, maybe less.
