Kids in the gym...
« on: February 27, 2007, 08:51:00 PM »
I'm not quite sure why, but the gym seems to be overrun with school kids recently.  Two of them are doing decline Smith machine presses.  The kid on the bench squeezes out his last rep with 65lbs, then tries to hook the bar the wrong way and just lets go!  His mate, who's supposed to be spotting him, watches gormlessly as the bar goes south, landing flat on the kids chest!

I had to pause my workout from laughing so much.

Anybody else have dumbasses in their gym who don't know how to use the equipment?

Have you ever seen the Darwin Awards?  Its a collection of stories of people who have done mankind a favour by offing themselves in spectacularly inventive ways.

Its good to see kids training, but they should have to be supervised by an adult. My kids been training since he was 8[hes 12 now]and even though hes still pre-puberty he is waaaay stronger then most of the adults in the gym,[squat 175X5,deadlift 235X3 at 113 pounds bodyweight].I think its great to get kids lifting early so when they reach puberty they are miles ahead of those that didnt train.

theres these two kids at my gym that havent got the slightest clue how to work out.
their range of motion is 1/10th of what it should be and they go on about how all their fat cells are going to metamorphose into pure muscle.

i want to drop a 45 pound plate on each or their heads and try to knock that nonsence out of them.

Thank God in Canada you gotta be 16 to join. No kiddies getting in the way here. Its a gym, not a daycare.

Any IFBB athletes on that list?
