I got a Fender Strat 57 reissue a couple months back. My guitar instructor loves the thing, so last week I told him that since I was into Deep Purple now I tore out the middle pickup like Blackmore. He almost fainted.

Rage are great, though I doubt you are talking about the German Heavy Metal band, if you are talking about Rage Against The Machine...they are ok at best  :P

speaking of that.... I asked my Uncle for my fathers telecaster for months with no reply. W/o an answer I buy that Strat for $1,400 and not 2 weeks later my Uncle gives me the fucking Tele for Christmas. Now I play the Tele more then anything! I could have used that 1400$

I kinda dig the tele over the strat to be honest but with the same pickups they sound about the same. Good thing for you their is always ebay!  :) Im dumping some of my equipment now

This is a tele plus. Has Lace pickups and hard tail bridge. I'll pm you some pics when I get home.

There were bands mixing rock/metal with rap/hip hop before Rage Against the Machine released anything.  Ever heard of Mordred???  Anthrax released Bring The Noise before that as well...RATM were not the first, not pioneers and not innovative in terms of Metal...but people can think what they like.
