If you like Pantera, you really need to listen to Exhorder - Slaughter in the Vatican. You'll also be listening to the band whose sound Pantera ripped-off when they realised Glam wasn't paying the bills...

I put Pantera in the "thrash" catagory. They aren't "metal". Megadeth, Exodus... shit like that is Metal.

Pantera weren't really thrash, not in the original meaning of the term...it was bands like Hirax, DRI and those bands that mixed hardcore punk and heavy metal that were the original Thrash bands. Bands like Metallica, Anthrax, Slayer, Megadeth were speed metal but then the magazines started to call these bands Thrash. Pantera got thrown into this genre... Saying Pantera aren't metal is like saying Elton John isn't gay... |

I didn't elaborate. I'm lazy with typing... true I meant "thrash" in the new style term. As far as them not being metal I'm talking about the typical sense of heavy metal. 80's type. |
