I can't disagree with you more. The public's perception, and generalisation of a male bodybuilder is; cockiness, bullying, poking fun at others who are smaller than they are, out of control ego, superiority complex, violence, and out of control behavior. When a moron on an internet board "challenges", or makes fun of someone like Derek, that "challenge" or insult should be ignored, or laughed off. Bodybuilding has taken so much of a "black eye" over the years, that I for one believe, that it is long overdue to change peoples minds, and exercise a little humility, and laugh off or totally ignore these petty little insults, and fight this crap with kindness, and show people what gentlemen we can really be. You don't see Ray, or Chik in a trailer, homemaking videos of themselves, telling Adonis or Vince G their plans to maim and kill them like Derek did....sheeesh. He is the prototypical "Everything that is Wrong with Bodybuilding" poster boy. Vince, if you haven't learned all this at your age, then I truly feel sorry for you, my friend....By responding/reacting the way that he does to these internet morons, makes Derek much worse, and even a bigger moron,, and someone who certainly should never be complimented, or given "props"....
