HOW DID YOU COMPARE TO DEX?


First of all, I would like to say that after the contest, I didn't get a chance to hook up with Dexter.  I felt bad that he lost.  I hate to see that look of defeat on the face.

We talked on Sunday about what's been said on the internet and magazines.   Dex and I are competitors.  We take this thing seriously.  When you have people in your way, you're going to do whatever it takes to let them know "I'm the man, not you".

I felt like Dex was probably approached by many people asking what he thought of PH, I'm sure he got tired of it.


We've buried the hatchet.  We're cool.  I'm sure we'll get to battle again.  I went up to him at his booth and said "you looked great.  I did everything I could to kick your ass.  You beat me".

Whos' to say I won't come back and beat him some day.  Hopefully it will be a rivary.  I'm here to take names like everyone else.

Callouts were very confusing to me.

I felt like it was very close between Vic and Dex.  but Toney Freeman too. 

I saw myself anywhere from THIRD to FIFTH.  But I did notice that during prejudging, I was starting to fade away a little bit.  I felt like I was being called out.  Then stopped.  then back out.  I've never had to do that. 

Our bodies and minds/hearts have to be in ONE to win.  I'm not making any excuse, by any means.

I felt that I deserved maybe 4th.

Width is genetic and he'll maximize what he has been given. Everything he can really improve will come up to offset his lack of width as bodybuilding is an illusion sport as Bob says. Phil has got a lot of room to refine his physique to his ultimate potential and when he gets there its going to be sick.

ON COMPARISONS:


It's still bodybuilding.

We play the game, you can't make excuses.  if I would have won, then I wouldn't say anything.  When people lose, they always have excuses.  Just like last years' Olympia.

It gave everyone an opportunity to be seen with all the bodybuilders.  So no one could complain.

I felt like I went out there to do my best, and I had to realize, look what I've accomplished over the past year.  Two pro wins.  And I still feel like I earned those wins.  And top 5 in my first Arnold.

I've been doing this sport for 5.  And I've been able to do some miraculous things.  I have a lot of high expectations.

Victor is 34yrs and may go for another 3-4 years, Dex 38?, Jay is going to compete for 2 or so more yrs, Ronnie has probably got 1 more....Phil in each case will just be hitting 30 not quite prime which is about 32-35yrs for most. He will be a very different guy from now.

yeah, a tad more self-absorbed than I thought.  Just a tad though. Sounds like a regular bodybuilder.  I had kinda built him up as this squeaky clean dude.   He lost  alot of $ dropping from 3 to 5, I can see him being a tad miffed.
