« on: March 07, 2007, 05:17:52 AM »
If you could pic a band 1 singer,1 bassest, 1 drummer, 2 guitarist, 1 keyboardist. Who would it be? living or dead.

singer- Geoff Tate- queensryche
bassest- Tony Levin - King Crimson
drummer- Neil Peart- rush
guitar 1- John Petrucci - Dream Theater
guitar 2 - Steve Hackett- Genesis
Keys- Rick Wakeman- yes

I can think of at least 5 more combos of guys that could put some cool shit together

While Thin Lizzy is a great band, I wouldn't put any individual members in my dream band. Phil Lynott is one of the greatest rock stars of all time, but he's not in Paul Rogers' class as a vocalist, or in Andy Fraser's as a bassist. John Bonham on drums was a no-brainer, although I can understand why someone would say Neil Peart. Guitar was a tough one. I just like Kossoff's style.

I would say Peart because he is abou 5x better than bonham. Not that Bonham wasnt a great drummer but I would also take Keith Moon before him.

If I had to take a keyboard player, it would be John Lord from Deep Purple. Again, it's a style thing.
