Branch Warren DVD - Unchained - Discuss
« on: March 13, 2007, 02:34:22 AM »
I didn’t buy it, but from the trailer it is a waste.  It is priced over US$30 –Ronnie’s at the same price but last for 5 hours and Ronnie’s DVD are always good-  the black and white is a Dorian Duplicate but it never works,, remember Markus’ XXXL

And the trailer is stupid, why the hell are they throwing weights around?? And the weights he is lifting are not impressive and the form is pathetic

So it is a waste

I agree, but I think Dorian shouldn't have used B&W either.

Why?

Of course! The cover should've been a dead give away.

IMO, the black and white is a little frustrating to watch.  You check out a DVD and want to see as many details as possible.  without color, it's kinda bland.

Black and White is great for still photos to convey the "hardcore" feeling. Horton's shots of Dorian in the black socks wouldn't have the same impact if in full color.

In film it is good to use for a trailer or the opening sequence, but not for the entire DVD.

Does that only apply to bodybuilding films?

So Speilberg, Scorsese and George Clooney were all wrong to choose black and white. Those films would have been so much better in color?

i saw the clip of the guy throwing a barbell out of nothing but boredom and rage.

let us know if they employ any projectile vomiting and then don't clean it up.

Aight ya bloody bastard, I meant in BODYBUILDING videos. No point in an entire bodybuilding DVD to be in black and white. Those are real directors, not some clown like myself merely holding a camera.

Most directors choose black and white to portray a serious image, especialy in major movie productions.

But most people buy bodybuilding DVD's to see the training, the hardcore stuff. Black and white is ok in some of these images, but not the entire DVD.

Still, it isn't fair to judge an entire DVD from a preview. Come on... the ones that should review it are the ones who have seen the DVD, not just the preview.

We'll have to agree to disagree over the point that a bodubuilding video has to be color.
Blood and Guts was shot in color. Looks horrid, pine walls, mutli-colored training outfits. Far too distracting. Black and White rules ;D

Don't you dare compare yourself to them, you disgusting fat bastard.

Part of the appeal of blood and guts was the black and white. Until that time all we had was technicolour bollocks from the perma grinning yanks.

if Branch wanted to be hardcore, he would put 400 lbs on a bar, get it on his back and go to his home doing lunges!

the major problem for a lot of people right now its not even Branch, but that idiot of his 'partner' trying to steal his 'act' acting like a Tr00 monster....

I watched Troponin's video yesterday............... what a difference from this one!

Trop was very scientific and methodical (very quiet as well)

Branch and Jay and the other guy are like animals................(like animals hopped up on Meth)

yelling /screaming....throwing weights around, makes for a good video

ill check back in a few..................... ...Mike

Complete B&W worked well for Animal Arms/Chest dvd. However, maybe the no talking part really made it good? I highly recommend it to get you psyched before training.
