He was not underrated.  At one time he was the golden child.  He got lots of coverage in FLEX and placed well in contests.  Many people knew who he was and identified him as potential Mr. O.  Maybe you need to look up the definition of underrated. 

"Unrealized potential" is not the same as "underrated."

i'm talking about underrated in the sense of being forgotten when speaking about the greats of all time which i think he was.

Yep that dude is from Columbus. I don't know what exactly happened that ended his competitive career. I think the Mike Francois Classic is coming up this may in Columbus.

yeah, Mark looks incredible, should have been a pro years ago, biggest arms i've ever seen on a non pro in person, strong kid as well, seen him train many times.

i think it was colitis, not colon cancer

I met him once in Columbus. He was a nice dude, but looked jacked on amphetamines or something like that. his eyes were all whacked. he didn't like the fact that I thought Flex Wheeler was the greatest bodybuilder at that time (1997). Oh well!
