I know what you are trying to do here  , however it is a tad different........Bush is unpopular for going against public opinion because he believes he is right. The Dems are unpopular because they promised to do so much last year and haven't done jack. Now people now how republicans felt the last years with the GOP run congress.

America voted the democrats in because they were displeased with BUSH's handling of the war.  There solution may not be popular, i'm not sure.  congress's approval rating has to be directly tied to their actions since January or lack there of.  And by your logic if BUSH's disapproval rating cements his great leadership then congress's must be the same.

Certainly not, you are right.  Bush has removed any doubt he's an idiot while the jury's still out on congress  ,  which also begs the question of congress's approval rating when the reps had control of both houses.

what i was  doing was making fun of your assertion that his approval rating or lack there of cemented his great leadership in standing fast for doing the unpopular thing.   

There's 2 ways to look at that:  either he knows best, or he's an idiot.
